The Story
In 2016, amidst a wave of divisive anti-immigrant sentiment, I created a mural of La Virgen de Guadalupe in Charlotte to serve as a beacon of belonging. It was a reminder of our shared roots and the richness we contribute to this city. Now, this design continues that mission—allowing us to carry her image, her strength, and her message wherever we go. As we celebrate her birthday on December 12, we honor the traditions that connect us and inspire future generations to stand proud of our raíces.
